CULTURE AND ART FESTIVAL IN MARMARIS THIS MAY
The 5th Marmaris International Culture and Arts Festival, organized by the Marmaris Culture and Arts Association (MAKSAD), will conclude on May 12 with performances by world-renowned composer and pianist Fazıl Say and master drummer Ferit Odman.
The press launch of the festival, which will take place between May 2–12 (MKSF26), was held yesterday at Elegance Hotel.
Marmaris Mayor Acar Ünlü and Muğla Metropolitan Municipality Head of Culture, Arts and Social Affairs Department Taner Yiğit also attended the event. During the launch, MAKSAD President Angela Berker presented plaques of appreciation to the main sponsors—Marmaris Municipality, Muğla Metropolitan Municipality—as well as other supporting organizations and media outlets.
MKSF26 WILL BE REMEMBERED WITH “CLEAR WORDS, CRYSTAL SOUNDS”
Speaking at the meeting, MAKSAD President Angela Berker stated: “Our aim is for the festival to be remembered not only for the artists we invite, but also for the events organized within the framework of our theme and the importance we attach to ancient settlements. In previous years, we highlighted ancient cities such as Phoenix, Amos, Kastabos and Kedreai, and selected our festival themes inspired by them. This year, the festival theme is also built around a concept closely connected to Marmaris’ history: ‘Clear Words, Crystal Sounds: The 1000th Anniversary of the Serçe Limanı Glass Shipwreck.’ Written by Ata SEVGİ - AjansCANKA
